The Technical Department provides the temporary power and lighting to this year’s Serpentine Gallery Pavilion, designed by the Japanese architect Junya Ishigami.
As temporary and permanent power, electrical and lighting contractors to the events industry, we are delighted to announce that we are supporting The Serpentine Pavilion 2019: our 8th year of installing temporary power and lighting to this project.
We are also proud to be Bronze Corporate Benefactors of The Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2019 in Kensington Gardens, London for the 6th year.
Ishigami’s design takes inspiration from roofs, the most common architectural feature used around the world. The design of the 2019 Serpentine Pavilion is made by arranging slates to create a single canopy roof that appears to emerge from the ground of the surrounding Park. Within, the interior of the Pavilion is an enclosed cave-like space, a refuge for contemplation. For Ishigami, the Pavilion articulates his -free space’ philosophy in which he seeks harmony between man-made structures and those that already exist in nature.
The Annual Serpentine Pavilion Commission provides a platform for Architectural experimentation and is an established highlight of both the London Art Scene and the Global Architectural Calendar. These unique structures in the heart of London, are used throughout the summer months providing a community hub and caf├â┬® by day and a space for debate, events and entertainment at night.
