The Technical Department provides the temporary power and lighting
This year’s Serpentine Gallery Pavilion is designed by award-winning Mexican architect, Frida Escobedo.
As power, electrical and lighting contractor specialists, we are delighted to announce that we will be supporting The Serpentine Pavilion 2018: our 7th year of installing temporary power and lighting to this project.
We are also proud to be Bronze Corporate Benefactors of The Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2018 in Kensington Gardens, London for the 5th year.
Frida Escobedo’s design takes a traditional feature of Mexican architecture, the ‘Celosa’ or breeze wall, to create an enclosed courtyard of two rectangular volumes positioned at an angel. The Pavilion will use British-Made materials, chosen for their dark colours and textured surfaces, to create a latticed structure of diffused light and fragmented views. Inside, reflective elements will emphasise light and shadow over the course of the day.
The Annual Serpentine Pavilion Commission provides a platform for Architectural experimentation and is an established highlight of both the London Art Scene and the Global Architectural Calendar. These unique structures in the heart of London, are used throughout the summer months providing a community hub and café by day and a space for debate, events and entertainment at night.
